This is the original mission patch for #Challenger7. It is on my high school backpack. When C7 launched, she carried the first American woman into space, Sally Ride, who died today. When C7 landed, I was being born in Houston, TX. My first day of high school, I brought her with me because I too was going somewhere big, new, and terrifying. I’ve never taken it off, I’ll never get rid of the backback. Sally Ride has been a role model and an inspiration for my entire life. I hope I never live in a world that doesn’t know and celebrate her name and her legacy. (Taken with Instagram)
