Support the President with a $10 donation before midnight, get this rad car magnet. Win/win.

Yeah man, I can spot you ten bucks. You only gave me MY ENTIRE HEALTH INSURANCE AND EDUCATION.

Comment of the day.

I don’t know, you are only the first President to acknowledge that my friends should be allowed to get married. You made it possible for them to serve the country. You made sure that I’ll have health insurance when I graduate from college. I’m not buried in debt. My health insurance company has to tell me how much of my premium goes to patient care. You added 4.6 billion dollars to the Veteran’s Administration so that this country’s defenders can receive mental health care. You eliminated subsidies to private lender middlemen of student loans and protect student borrowers. You established the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You signed financial reform allowing shareholders of publicly traded companies to vote on executive pay.
Surely that’s worth a 20?
You’ve had my back, now I’ve got yours.

Comment of the day, part the second.

A note from Brian H.:

Dear Mr. President -

I don’t know that you will see this response, yet I hope you will.

I can’t begin to tell you what it means to me to hear these words come from my President. I never dared to hope that the leader of my country would ever affirm aloud what I must re-affirm daily in the face of increasingly shrill and pointedly hateful opposition.

Thank you for saying out loud words that you support our lives and loves. Thank you for saying out loud words that convey the value of our families. Thank you for saying out loud words that unequivocally affirm us, support us, nourish us, validate us.

Thank you for saying out loud, from the position of national leadership, words that need to be said, heard and instructive to those who punish us for being who we are, loving who we love, and desiring to define, defend and provide for OUR families, just like everyone else.

Thank you, Mr. President, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
